I have been very struck by today’s local anniversary and two prophetic words of the past few days. On September 30, 1826 – exactly 200 years ago today – Ithaca began to experience a massive revival. One young woman “passed from death to life” and Holy Spirit fire began to fall and spread throughout October and beyond affecting approximately a quarter of the population here.
As you may know, this past Sunday Apostle Tim Sheets released a prophetic word that “It is now time, as Glory River flows, for waves of Glory to flow through the King’s ekklesia… 21 waves of Glory will begin to flow this fall through ekklesia hubs.”
I’ve always considered AIM to be an ekklesia hub and began to pray that Holy Spirit would flow through each member and ministry of AIM.
Then, this morning, Give Him 15 included this word from Larry Sparks related to the Glory River conference. At a meeting in Southern California Larry said, “the Lord directed me to announce the revival history of Southern California. He then went on to enumerate revivals there and said, “As His river flows, we will witness supernatural, miraculous healings. Lord, may there be meetings where they are “all healed,” and territories are broken open for the Gospel.”
I began to think about my discussions with one of AIM’s key participants about revival in the Mahoning Valley of Ohio, also in 1826-27, propelled by meetings in Canfield, Ohio where some of AIM’s participants live (I can’t help but feel this is related to the unbelievable resistance one couple has experienced the past few years because of their desire for their ministry base to be used for healing and revival/discipleship.)
Another couple from AIM are right outside of Rochester where Charles Finney brought great revival in the early 1830s. The areas around Russellville and Atlanta were the site of early camp meetings that resulted in revival and church planting in the mid 1820s. Duquesne University in Pittsburgh sparked the Catholic Charismatic Revival in the 1960s-70s that spread worldwide.
